Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ReceiptMatch, a receipt management service operated by Codesense. By using ReceiptMatch, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Provider

2. Eligibility

ReceiptMatch is a business-to-business (B2B) service. By using this service, you represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have the authority to bind your organization to these Terms
  • You will use the service for lawful business purposes only

3. Account Registration

  • You must register using a valid Google account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • One organization may have multiple user accounts

4. Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period. During the trial, you have full access to the service. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the trial at any time. After the trial period, continued use requires a paid subscription.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload illegal, fraudulent, or counterfeit documents
  • Use the service to evade taxes or commit financial fraud
  • Attempt to access other users' or organizations' data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the service
  • Upload malware, viruses, or malicious content
  • Overload the service with automated requests or abuse the API
  • Resell or sublicense access to the service without permission

6. Your Data

6.1 Ownership

You retain all rights to the receipts and data you upload. We do not claim ownership of your content.

6.2 License to Us

By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely to provide the service. This license ends when you delete your data or account.

6.3 Data Processing

We process your data as described in our Privacy Policy. For business customers requiring a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), contact us at [email protected].

7. AI-Extracted Data

ReceiptMatch uses artificial intelligence to extract information from receipts. While we strive for accuracy:

  • AI extraction may contain errors
  • You are responsible for verifying extracted data before use
  • We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-extracted information

8. Third-Party Integrations

ReceiptMatch integrates with third-party services (Google, Procountor, etc.). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of third-party services.

9. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we will provide advance notice when possible)
  • Unplanned outages or technical issues
  • Factors beyond our control (hosting provider issues, network problems)

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law:

  • The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for data loss — you are responsible for maintaining backups of critical data

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death/personal injury caused by our negligence.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Codesense from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of the service
  • Content you upload to the service
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

12. Intellectual Property

ReceiptMatch, including its software, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by Codesense and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our written permission.

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature. Upon termination, your data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

13.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your use poses a security risk
  • Required by law
  • We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the courts of Finland. Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at [email protected].

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Codesense regarding ReceiptMatch and supersede any prior agreements.
